The State of our region
Serving Our Community
After 40-plus years of serving in various communities, Paul could not stand on the sidelines while:
- Children are being raped and killed in our schools.
- Mental Health is at a critical level for students and teachers.
- Suicide is up among teachers and students.
- Crime and Gun Violence ravage Our Communities.
- Police are being de-funded and understaffed.
- Car Jacking and home Burglaries are up.
- Human Trafficking and Domestic Violence is up
- Youths are Cutting and Dropping out of School
- Drug Abuse and Gang Violence is up
- Families and Businesses Struggle to make ends meet.
- Single Moms and Their Fatherless Children Live in Poverty
- Antisemitism is at an all-time high.
Buncombe County is at a tipping point. I will stand in the gap and unpack various community initiatives with trained community partners to make Buncombe County a better place to live, raise a family, and operate a business.
Some key Concerns I will address
Your faith determines your value system, and your values determine your personal victory in Life. The family is still the foundation of every society. The word family comes from the word father. As the father goes, so goes the family, Church, city, and Nation.
Safety begins at home. Dads were the first line of defense in the family. Now, with the absence of fathers in the house, young men take matters into their own hands.
Men were wired to be protectors of women and children. Now, many men have become predators. Domestic Violence and child abuse are up. Human Trafficking and Car Jacking are now at an all-time high.
Now is not the time to De-Fund The Police; it is time to Re-Fund The Police and train mentors to fill the gap for these families. My team and I will equip leaders on how to implement key strategies in their communities.
A child's Mental Health is determined by what family system they are raised in. Strong, healthy Families produce a well-balanced community. I will train and equip leaders and concerned families to help mitigate this growing pandemic.
Businesses are the economic engine of our community. Business owners are Dads and Moms, too.
We must reduce burdensome regulations and tax burdens so all families can thrive and prosper.
We need to address the homeless crisis in our County. Taxes and Real Estate values are pricing families out of the region. Even many of our Law-Enforcement officers have to live outside of the County because of the high cost of living.
We need to address reckless spending and bring transparent financial accountability.
School shootings and rape on campuses are up. My team and I will equip leaders to implement critical strategies in schools.
40% of the children in Buncombe are being raised in single-parent fatherless homes. The results are staggering. 90% of crimes and violence stem from young men raised in fatherless homes.
90% of Youth in our urban communities are being raised without a Dad in the home. We train and equip men to stand in the gap.
When the only father figure you know is the local drug dealer and gang leader, fatherless young men will do whatever it takes to belong and get accepted. Yes, even car-jack your car at the gas station with your child in it.
God blessed us with beautiful mountains and the Blue Ridge Parkway. We must be good stewards and balance economic advancement and environmental conservation.
